ITV Studios Nordic is set to produce a local version of Hell’s Kitchen, to premiere on MTV3 in the fall, marking the first time the format has been produced in Finland.

The 12 x one-hour Hell’s Kitchen Finland will be hosted by Michelin-starred Finnish chef Sauli Kemppainen (pictured above), and shot in a restaurant opening in Helsinki in July.

The international format has been produced in 13 territories worldwide, including the U.S., the UK, Germany, France and Spain, while the finished program of Hell’s Kitchen USA recently sold to Asia, Discovery India and CJ in South Korea.

In Hell’s Kitchen, a high-profile chef assess the performances of a group of amateur chefs as they compete to be the last chef standing. Hell’s Kitchen Finland is executive produced by Aram Aflatuni and Heli Koskela for ITV Studios Nordic.

“We are extremely excited to finally get the chance to bring Hell’s Kitchen to Finland,” said Pete Paavolainen, head of formats for MTV3. “It is by far the biggest and most dramatic of all the cooking formats around, a perfect match for MTV3 which is the biggest commercial channel in the territory.”
